what an idea sir ji!!!!!!

the Microsoft company had introduced a bus service for its worker in Bangalore on 29th September. the company had opened this service taking in consideration of the hours spent in traveling and especially Bangalore faces a severe traffic round the clock in spite of the busy hours.the company also includes the time spend in the travel as working hours.thus with the increasing metropolitan traffic this system can be customary for all the corporate houses and we will even attain a stage in future where workers should even be allowed to work from home which is being followed by the big business houses in abroad and ibm-mumbai

Lift that takes passengers to space

Each and Every homosapien who had born in this planet had always been amazed and wondered of the existence of the vast blue canopy of sky and the space. Such an excitement of the humans had led to many space exploration programs and now it has reached a stage where there are provisions for space travel suitable for those even who had not practiced as astronaut. Such interest among people had led Japanese scientist to construct a lift that takes passengers 62,000 miles into the space. The project could see the realization of a vision that has inspired science fiction writers for generations but it is said that lift would need new feats of engineering which would move up and down 22,000 mile-long cables

These lift’s cables had to be stronger and lighter than any material ever made and these cables are to be anchored and fixed to the geo stationary satellite in the orbit. The scientist believe that apart from taking passengers to space, they also believe them to carry solar generator to plant in the satellite, so that they can supply power to the business in earth.

Japan government has planned to invest 5 billon dollars in this project. Apart from Japan other 5 institution including NASA are trying to take on this project. The scientist had planned to use the same technology used in the bullet trains for the power supply to the lift.

Let us pray god for the development of this project and let it be a successful one so as to fetch its fruits to the future generations.

apophis-the destroyer

Some of us could have seen the film Armageddon that featured a fictional story of attacks by the asteroids, which came deflected from the asteroid belt, and if these asteroids collide with our planet, they would create the most powerful nuclear explosion enveloping the whole planet. The director of the film has applied a strategy of placing the nuclear weapon by digging a hole in the asteroid and making it to deflect by exploding it.

In the same way the scientist have identified nearly 127 asteroids that pose a threat between 2020 and 2050. Among them apophis99942 (the Greek name of the ancient enemy of the Egyptian sun god) was identified as the most deadly one. Though the size of the asteroids is termed to be a speck, which is a comparative terms smaller than a dust mote in the expanse of sky when seen through a powerful telescope, the concern is that the real size and the speed at which it is traveling.

The length of apophis has been estimated at 350m, weighing more than 20 million tones and traveling at a speed more than 20,000kph. The date of collision with earth is tentatively estimated at April 13,2036 somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. If it collides the destruction would envelope the whole world causing numerous earthquake and tsunamis on a large scale.

Thus this issue is no longer a fiction and the international academy of astronautics on planet defense has to take some important decision regarding this issue, when they meet in April 2009, for the first time.

But the scientist had devised some strategy, which would help to deflect the asteroids away from us. The experiments suggest that it would be enough if the rate of deflection were about a cm/second from 2026. Some of the strategies are
· It is estimated that the asteroid will have a close flyby in 2029. The Idea is to position a satellite close to it and to use micro-gravity force to deflect it
· To place solar sails on the surface which would help in deflecting them
· To make a nuclear explosion near its surface so that it would help in the deflection of apophis due to the kinetic energy produced by the explosion.

Though the collision of the asteroid is scheduled after a quarter century, the matter should be seriously taken into account when the international academy of astronautics on planet defense meet on coming April 2009 to device a method to save our planet from the deadly guest-apophis.

Thank you

SECONDARY POVERTY

Everyone who claims to be a Indian citizen knows the term “poverty” and what it is all about and even some might be experiencing it in their daily life too. In a shorter sense it can be defined as lack of basic needs to lead a minimal standard of living.

But very few, who had taken economics, as their main subject, must have known what is “secondary poverty” is all about. So I would like to give my readers a hint on this topic. Secondary poverty is a condition in which earnings are not sufficient to support maintenance of physical, environment and one’s basic want. To illustrate, I furnish a few instances of ‘secondary poverty’:

· If I suffer from poor upkeep of my apartment, it is an indicator of secondary poverty.
· If I am not able to make up enough money to pay my health check up when I need it most, it is also an indicator of secondary poverty.
· If I suffer from the environmental pollution, which I am not able to avoid due to the cost of eradicating it, it is an indicator of secondary poverty.

Almost every 9 among 10 Indians suffer from secondary poverty.

In my apartment the inhabitants suffer from water scarcity and we are compelled to have only 20 minutes of water. One family can hardly get 250 liters of water everyday even after paying nearly 800 bucks every month. So people of my apartment basically suffer from secondary poverty i.e. though the resources were made available they are not enough for essential usage. In the same way every one of is facing secondary poverty either directly or indirectly.

The best example which I could provide you is the power cut which was made customary by the government of tamilnadu for 2 hours everyday.
Finally I would like to leave a saying of Rowntree, that “the secondary poverty had prevented more people from meeting what he called “human need standard” than did primary poverty (that is, inadequate income).

Thus I wish to conclude saying that it is the responsibilities of the individuals to keep themselves alleviated from secondary poverty.

Whether India can face sub-prime crisis in future?

From my last article on sub-prime crisis one can figure out the circumstances, which had triggered crisis in US. I would like to discuss on some those circumstances with may have an impact on the Indian economy.

Some of the circumstances, which led to the crisis, are
1. Real estate marketing and investments in Wall Street floating high.
2. Craze among people to invest in those areas in expectation of high returns.
3. Wrong usage of financial liberalization by the banks by lending high loans to the people who are categorized as “sub-prime”
4. Increase in the mortgage rates for the loans acquired due to the various changes in the financial structure.
5. Big downfalls in the US share markets.

If one can observe the trends in the real estate marketing and the share markets in the recent past, a clear boom in its development can be observed. Lands and building which are bought in thousands before a decade is reaching as high as in crores today and our citizens had started showing interest on investment in share as never before and banks with a view to expand their business had begun to sanction loans with minimum security. These may correspond to the first three circumstances.

With the inflation rates soaring high to a new limit, banks also hiked the rates of interest for various types of loans extended and with sub-prime crisis turning out to be a global one had affected the companies that were totally or partially the service provider for Europe and American companies. So as a result of the crisis in the western nations our share markets had faced a severe downfall and the valve of rupee to deplete reaching 1$=47 rupees in the global market. These can be compared to the 4&5 circumstances.

But with the above comparison one cannot come at the conclusion that our economy is going to face such a crisis. When compared to US, we are intensively strong in our financial stability and all the above, Indians are known for their saving nature from the age-old time. So it is my personal view that India can withstand any such crisis, which is going to take part in future and to recover fast than any nation.

Note: please share your views on this issue by jest voting in the comment column. the readers are requested to leave their e-mail id and their phone numbers .thank you.

Sub prime crisis

While posting my last article on depreciated real estate marketing in US. I was able to observe a particular term named “sub-prime crisis”. I had seen this term headlining our news for the past two months but was not able to figure it out. So I inquired my father and some more sites, which had posted details about it.

During the end of the year of 2005, the real estate marketing in US attained its peak and the citizens had a craze on real property and on investments in stock, expecting huge returns from their investments. The Americans borrowed heavily from the banks and the banks too did not hesitate to provide loans to those who do not even, satisfy basic eligibility criteria, in terms of their capacity to repay. These borrowers who were poorly equipped to repay the disproportionate loans taken in comparison to their earnings, were technically called ‘Sub-prime’ borrowers.

The situation then turned to be still tense when the US banks hiked their interest rates in later 2006 and due to hiked interest, the borrowers were unable to pay the interests and the capital borrowed. Due to failure by the borrowers to service the interest and the capital borrowed, the banks began to seize the assets, which were offered as security at the time of getting loans.

This onslaught by banks let to a situation called the ‘liquidity crisis. To meet the repayment commitments, the borrowers sold their assets. Due to these spate liquidations, the real estate marketing and the NASDAQ & DOW JONES (capital and industrial indies) got depreciated its value to a greater level. Nearly 2 million people lost their home and the total economy faced a serious financial crisis. Three banks namely LEHMANN BROTHERS, JP MORGAN STANLEY & AIG incurred heavy revenue and capital loss and was in a situation to even get closed. Thanks to the US senators who had passed the bail out plan of $ 700 billions, which is the highest in the history of world economy.

This crisis had affected the total global economy. The banks and insurance companies, which had tie up with those banks are in the verge of closure. The exporting countries also faced a serious economic problem due to the problems in the importing countries. Millions are losing their jobs around the world due to this crisis.

Terms related to Sub-prime crisis

Before getting into this to topic I would like to discuss on some of the terms which is very closely related our subject

Liquidity: This term can be mainly related to assets, which can be easily disposed. The assets are often termed as liquid assets especially due to their free disposable nature. Cash in hand, deposits, investments, stocks and shares, tangible & intangible assets are some of the liquid assets . Thus it is very clear that cash can be the best liquid asset & assets like building can be considered as rigid ones, which cannot be disposed at ease

Liquidation: this term is mostly related to banking and other lending institution where it is practically practiced. It refers to giving up of the liquid assets for the dues accumulated in return with a small loss.

For the price of a ticket, buy a home in U.S

A return ticket for Delhi-new York are priced around RS.75000, but with real estate prices crashing in the US, Indians could buy homes there for the same amount! Thanks to the bottom falling out of the US housing market and struggling families abandoning homes, unable to keep up mortgage payments.

A detailed look at US realty websites such as Realtor.com, zillion.com, zip reality.com show that homes with at least one bath room and bedroom are indeed being advertised at anywhere between $1500-3000(RS69000-1, 38,000), an incredible fact by itself, In places such as Detroit, Michigan, Jackson, Mississippi and Ohio.

“The dramatically lowered residential property rates in many parts of the US can be attributed to the sub-prime crisis, which has caused a huge surplus of stock in the market, besides reducing liquidity, which slows down absorption,”

As per the law, only US residents can purchase homes, and the low price could suit students traveling to US and technicians regularly sent for on-site operations. As per the RBI, an average Indian can invest up to $ 200,000 In US real estate.

“Students live in apartments or as paying guests, shelling out $250-500 per month. If they or their parents can afford to pay money upfront, this might be a good option for students planning to stay for 1-2 years

Over 6% of US home loans are in arrears and around 1.5-2 million Americans have lost their homes to foreclosure in 2007.

We may run out of web addresses in 2 year

Father of Internet urges users to switch to next generation of net addresses to stay connected.

London: vint cerf,”the father of the internet “has warned that the world is on the verge of running out of the web addresses that allow computers to identify and communicate with each other.

Cerf, one of the world’s leading computer scientist, has asserted that there’s and immediate need for businesses and consumers to switch to the next generation of net addresses

Every computer and online devices is assigned a unique ip addresses but according to the estimates, the pool of unallocated numbers will soon dry

Ip addresses are as crucial to websites as street addresses are for business but some network engineers predict that we will run out of them in 2 years

However, Cerf has said that it’s high time that preparations are made now otherwise some computers might not be able to go online and the connectivity of the Internet might be damaged.

He also said that particularly Internet service providers are needed to get ready for the situation and that time was running out for a smooth transition. “This is like the Internet out of telephone numbers and with no numbers, you can’t have more subscriber,” times online quoted him, as saying.

Cerf and hid colleagues devised the Internet system in 1977,and he set in place, “Internet protocol version 4”(ipv4) which provided 4.2 billion addresses. Each ipv4 address is a series of 32 binary digits. However with the boost in the number of Internet –enabled devices, especially mobile phones, less than 14%of those addresses remain vacant.

According to current figures, the existing ipv4 address will run out in 2010 and possibly as early as next year. But, scientists have already kept aside a new system, called ipv6, which has been ready for implementation for more than a decade.

Under ipv6, each address has 128 bits and so provides 340trillion different addresses. And it is believed that this will meet humanity’s needs for decades to come

Both the protocol system will run simultaneously and ipv4 addresses will still run as normal. But If the ipv6 is not widely adopted, then those using it may find themselves unable to connect across the whole internet

The organization of economic operation and development has warned that shifting to the new addressing scheme was “critical for the future of the Internet economy” and was likely to affect “all business that requires ip addresses for growth”

Cerf said consumers needed to be aware of ipv6 and to start checking that the products they buy are ipv6 compatible. Most software companies and many hardware companies are already making their products ipv6 ready. it is thought that, properly handled, the effect of the introduction of ipv6 on consumers will be minimal although eventually home routers may have to be swapped so they can use the longer addresses.

In Asia, governments in china, Korea and Japan have led the rollout of the new protocol
